Peace

In search of Peace,
I visited mountains, sat under trees,
Visited plains, sat by the sea
Listening to waves, gazing at the sky,
Listening to birds, watching them fly.
In search of peace,
I talked to friends and family,
Sometimes thoughtful, sometimes silly,
Met counsellors and mentors,
Wrote to myself sometimes long letters.
In search of peace,
I ate chocolates and cakes,
I cooked and baked,
I listened to music and podcasts,
Sometimes slow, sometimes fast.
In search of peace,
I visited temples and ashrams,
Sometimes meditation centres and stays in farms.
Journey continued and sometimes I found peace,
It vanished everytime as if taken on lease.
Why I cannot hold on to the feeling I wondered,
With deep contemplation I heard the voice that said, dear just surrender.
Surrender.. Accept what is, where is and feel the moment,
Take a breath and relax,
Peace is not something outside to be found,
In our inner self, it abounds.
Peace is when you learn to let go,
When you give up resentment and let positive emotions flow,
Good or bad just look at feelings,
There is a lesson hidden, every event is telling.
In chaos listen to heart beat,
Be loving always and with open mind, everyone you greet.
Peace is there everywhere if you are ready to feel,
Enrich your life, you have power in yourself to heal.
